Evernode: decentralised hosting on a blockchain.
Two years building Evernode, a blockchain platform for decentralised hosting, from proof of work in the C core to the React dashboard.
The problem
Decentralised hosting needs hosts and clients that can find, trust and connect to each other without a central provider, while staying efficient enough to run on ordinary machines.
The approach
Implemented proof of work for client to server connectivity in C and C++, integrated platform features, and improved the React dashboard that hosts and tenants use. Supporting services used Firebase Firestore, SQL and Bash, delivered in Scrum.
The engineering challenge
Making low-level networking and proof of work reliable across many independent hosts, and presenting that complexity clearly in the dashboard.
What this represents
Essential components of a live decentralised hosting platform, and deep experience in systems programming alongside web development.
